Sixty-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Accident

A 68-year-old Phoenix man was seriously injured in a traffic accident on Wednesday, June 2. This after he was hit by a rental van on Royal Road in Phoenix as he was crossing the road. The driver of this vehicle, a young 23 years old and living in Kennedy, Quatre-Bornes was submitted to a breathalyzer test. This one proved to be negative. The vital prognosis of the victim who is admitted to the intensive care unit of the Victoria Hospital, Candos is engaged.

It is around 6:30 am this Wednesday, June 1 that this accident occurred. The rental car was traveling on Phoenix’s Royal Road when it struck the pedestrian, who had crossed suddenly to the right to go left. With serious injuries, an EMS ambulance was called to the scene to evacuate the 60-year-old to Victoria Hospital in Candos.

The driver was taken to the Phoenix Police Station for questioning. In his statement, he explained that he tried to avoid the pedestrian, but to no avail. He said the 60-year-old crossed in front of his vehicle. The man was given a breathalyzer test by a police officer from the Emergency Response Service. This exercise proved to be negative.

An investigation was initiated at the Phoenix Police Station to determine the exact circumstances of this accident.
