Eddy Jean Louis, 62 years old and living on Desbouchers Street, Roche-Bois, was seriously injured late Friday afternoon, February 11, in a road accident in the locality. This sixty-year-old man was hit by a vehicle, which did not stop. Injured in the head. He was admitted to the intensive care unit of the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, Port-Louis.
It was around 5:05 pm this Friday, February 11, that this man was taken to the Dr. Jeetoo Hospital on board an ambulance of the Emergency Medical Service.
He was bleeding heavily from the head when his relatives were alerted that he was lying on the asphalt. It was not until about 1:41 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, that Sergeant Dawooraz of the Roche-Bois police station went to his bedside after being alerted by the hospital police station.
However, no statement could be recorded from the victim as he is placed on artificial respiration. His vital prognosis is engaged.
An investigation has been initiated at the Roche-Bois police station to find the perpetrator of this hit-and-run.
