Must Read

A police operation carried out by members of the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (Adsu) in Mahebourg, with the logistical support of a police helicopter on Tuesday September 19, resulted in the uprooting of one hundred and thirty cannabis plants in the Montagne Ronde area of Riche en Eau. These plants measure between thirty centimetres and one meter twenty. They have a market value of Rs 650,000.

The operation was launched since information obtained by Sergeant Gunesee’s men. After the plants were spotted by the police helicopter on an abandoned plot of land in a wood at Montagne Ronde Riche en Eau, a search party was organized. Surveillance was carried out at the site, but the alleged grower failed to show up. The plants were then uprooted and taken to the Adsu office in Mahebourg.

An investigation has been launched to trace the alleged grower of these plants.
