Mauritian Wedding Crasher Filmed Robbing Couples In Australia During Their Wedding Receptions

Must Read

A 24-year-old Mauritius national who only recently arrived in Australia is accused of stealing $16,000 in gifts from brides and grooms by infiltrating their wedding receptions. Australian Police have charged Ahmad Hasan Fahiz Moosafeer with snatching cash, jewellery and gift cards from wishing wells at Melbourne nuptials. Between April 2 and May 22, it’s alleged the man snuck into wedding receptions, mingling with guests before stuffing his bag with cash-filled cards and gifts.

The uninvited guest is accused of taking from wishing wells at receptions. Footage of him roaming about wedding venues came to light on Wednesday. Police arrested and charged the man on Tuesday and he faces court in October. The 24-year-old Carlton man allegedly pretended to be a guest at wedding receptions hosted at Melbourne venues between April 2 and May 22.

Police allegedly found jewellery and gift cards when they searched a Carlton property yesterday. The man was arrested and hit with 27 charges, including aggravated burglary, burglary, theft and going equipped to steal. He has been granted bail and is due to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on October 18.

At one wedding in Brunswick, bride Kellee Pace said the man allegedly stole thousands from their wishing well and even wrote in the guest book.

“It was the best wedding he’d apparently ever attended and he was feeling awesome and lucky on the night, three quarters of our wishing well was missing,” she said.

“We definitely felt really violated, we were mingling with people and he was downstairs drinking in the bar and we had no idea he was even there.”

The wedding industry however pushed back, sharing the man’s image with one another, before he was spotted by wedding planner Jasmine Arapovic at her sister-in-law’s wedding.

“It was a heavy Macedonian wedding, he definitely didn’t blend in,” she said.

“My dad then put him in a bit of a headlock to make sure he didn’t try and escape before I could have a chat with the venue manager to get them to put him in a room.”

This is Australian television Current Affair program who has tracked down the accused wedding crasher.
