L’Espoir Was Present In Constituency No. 8, St. Pierre For The First Time

Must Read

On this Friday 6th May 2022, the platform of L’Espoir had its very first meeting with the population in Constituency no. 8, namely in St Pierre. Very enthusiast with this first meeting after almost a year since the formation of the platform, they represent the ‘Hope’ for the future generations of Mauritius.

“Despite all, you have to keep faith in the members of the Parliament because the Opposition is at the listen of the population…” are the words of the Leader of the Opposition and leader of the PMSD, Xavier Luc Duval, who was the first one to address the inhabitants of St. Pierre.

He stated that this is a very historic step taken by L’Espoir today and that the platform must stay welded for the future generations of the country. He also spoke about the Motion of Non-confidence lodged against the government; which is being lodged principally due to the increase in the prices of basis foods, transportation among others, and where the population is finding it difficult to reach both ends.

He also seized the opportunity to congratulate the DPP for the wonderful job done where the Police force denied an order of the Supreme Court, which is the highest institute of the country.

The second person to have addressed the population was Nando Bodha, the Leader of RM, who came over two aspects he believed the inhabitants of St. Pierre should know. As for his resignation as a Minister and member of the MSM, he stated there is a “odeur de la mort autour du MSM” and he spoke about the Kistnen case, which he describes as a political assassination. The other issues raised, which he describes as being “odeur de l’argent sale”, are the different incompetent persons sitting in the highest positions of our institutions, the issue of drugs, horse racing issues, black money politics and more.

He also stated that this is their very last portfolio as politicians and the Platform will surely save the country and the future of our future generations.

Roshi Bhadain, the leader of the Reform Party, stated that it is the Platform of L’Espoir, which is the faith of the country and that whatever is happening in the country was perceived by the way the ruling government was and is ruling the country. He spoke about the depreciation of the Mauritian Rupee and the increase in prices, like 30% in increase of the public transport fees and very soon, the price of electricity will increase.

The last person to have spoken was Paul Berenger, who was delighted and emotional for this very first public meeting of the Platform of L’Espoir. He stated that this is just a beginning and that the Platform will soon be meeting the inhabitants of Plaine Magnien and Fond du Sac until they have made a complete round across the country. He also associates himself with the other members of the Platform concerning the Motion of Non-confidence lodged against the government. He also came over the situation the population is going through.
