A history buff, Sada Rajiah once again takes us on a journey back in time. More precisely, to the era of slavery: “I love history and until now, I hadn’t exploited the period of slavery. Now I’ve done it with the film Les cris du baobab, which tells the story of how families lived through the loss of their loved ones who were taken on board slave ships.”

The film will be released in February 2024.

While an initial screening took place on the 15th and 16th, a longer run is planned from February 1ᵉʳ next year: “The film will be shown for a week from February 1ᵉʳ next year. An extension is conceivable asking for demand from Mauritian cinephiles,” explains director Sada Rajiah.

He and his team are also working on a film to be shot in Mauritius and France. This project will start in 2024.
