One month after the two Gurroby brothers were arrested in the case where a huge drug seizure amounting to some Rs 3 billion was found, the ADSU officers are starting to better understand this case. As Jean Lucandro Prudence, aged 21 and also known as Gro Samuel and Geoffrey Kurson aged 24, also known as Jeffrey Jean, two inhabitants of Baie Du Tombeau were arrested early morning on 14th of June, the puzzle is slowly taking shape. The two friends, two important links in the drug network, were arrested by ADSU officers after one whole month on the run. The operation effected by the ADSU officers took place in Baie Du Tombeau but the two friends were found and arrested in a house at Cite Chebel.
It is only after viewing CCTV cameras that some heads began to roll. Namely the arrest of the police officer Kevin Joumont, whose car was seen in the cortege and which the enquiring officers suspected was carrying the drug. When he was questioned, the latter denied any participation in this drug network and told the ADSU officers that he had lent his car to Jean Lucandro Prudence and that he was not aware that his car would be used in drug transactions. According to informations gathered by the police, Jean Lucandro Prudence was the financial officer on behalf of the Gurroby. He was supposed to keep the money after the drug was sold and was responsible to launder it. The police also suggests that he was one of the ‘rucksack’ team responsible to collect winning tickets from bookmakers at Champs-de-Mars, against 10 % of the sum which was won. Until now, Jean Lucandro Prudence has never been bothered by the police officers of ADSU. In the drug distribution plan, he was always in the background. Jean Lucandro Prudence and Geoffrey Kurson are both facing provisional charges of drug trafficking with aggravating circumstances.
