La Croisette Celebrates Patriotism With ‘Fet Nou Ti Zil’

Must Read

To mark 56 years of Independence, La Croisette invites Mauritians to ‘Fet nou ti zil’ this Saturday, March 9, from 1 pm to 8:30 pm. The event aims to celebrate the country’s journey and national pride from March 12, 1968 to the present day.

The program includes flag distributions and a Sega music and dance show. Les Zilwa, a group of three singers and eight dancers, will provide the entertainment. For Jerry Mooken – lead singer of the group, our sega is much more than just a dance: “Tipik sega is much more than just a dance and music. It’s an expression of our identity, our history and our Mauritian pride. Safeguarding this UNESCO heritage is essential to preserving our culture and, above all, passing on these traditions to future generations.

And with ‘Fet nou ti zil’, La Croisette wants to commemorate 56 years of Independence with dignity, celebrating the unity and diversity that are the pride of our island. The mall’s management hopes that:

“May Mauritians continue to work together for a better future, based on the values of solidarity, tolerance and respect. May this Independence Day be an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to the principles of peace, justice and freedom”.
