Aurore denounces “a business on the head of children”
In a press conference this morning, Aurore Perraud of the PMSD returned to the report of the Public Accounts Committee, especially the part devoted to child shelters. She alleged that some employees of the ministry have relatives on the boards of these shelters. These people are paid to sit on them. She also pointed out that some officers go out of their way to admit children to specific shelters, even if they are not in good standing. “There is a business on the heads of our children and their misfortunes,” he said. She urged the minister to “get out of her ivory tower and get down to the field.”
Her party colleague Kushal Lobine made a plea for a Rs 6 cut in fuel prices. For him, this is realistic. He also called for the minimum wage to be raised to Rs 15,000. For him, the Mauritius Investment Corporation can add the remaining amount.
