“Larzan ladrog sa missie”. This is the confession of a resident of karo Kaliptis, Roche-Bois to a team of police officers from the Special Supporting Unit (SSU) Intelligence Cell, after he was found in possession of a sum of Rs 101,875 in the evening of Friday 15 July. These police officers discovered in the same bag ten doses of heroin and three Olanap tablets classified as psychotropic drugs. The suspect Joann Sergio Louis, 35 years old was arrested. This Saturday morning, July 16, he was brought before the Bail and Remand Court (BRC) in Port-Louis. He is facing a provisional charge of drug trafficking.
It was around 10:25 pm on the evening of Friday, July 15 that the assault was given to the home of this suspect in Karo Kaliptis, Roche-Bois by these police officers led by the chief inspector Rajcoomar Seewoo. Information was obtained by this team that he was engaged in drug trafficking.
Upon arrival of the SSU Intelligence Cell police officers at Sergio Louis’ home, the latter had to run away. But, he was quickly caught by two policemen. A handbag that he was carrying on his shoulder was seized. A search of this bag by the two policemen revealed a sum of Rs 101 875 in different denominations. When confronted with this money, he had to declare, “Larzan ladrog sa missie”. In the same bag, these policemen also found ten doses of heroin and three psychotropic tablets of the brand Olanap.
These doses of heroin, he said was for sale, while these three psychotropic tablets were for his own consumption, before adding, “mo pena oken lordonans”. Sergio Louis was taken into custody overnight. After his appearance before the BRC, he was taken back to the police cell.
