Recent controversies around Kanye West

The rapper has been at the center of public rage for many months now, due to charges of sexual harassment and anti-Semitism. Recently, many big brands like Adidas and other luxury brands have cut off associations with him.

Only last week, Kanye West, who has now changed his name to Ye, came into the light for attending a dinner with former American President Donald Trump and white supremacist political commentator Nick Fuentes. After the two had dinner together, Trump termed Ye crazy.

West’s Hitler Debate

Ye was part of the interview, Infowars, with far-wing chat show host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and Fuentes also appeared on the show. During the interview, he said the line, “I like Hitler.”

During a point in the conversation, he rejected the notion that Hitler’s Nazi killed six million Jews. The statement is illegal in Germany. West termed the statement as “factually incorrect”.

“I see good things about Hitler also. This guy… invented highways, invented the very microphone that I used as a musician, you can’t say out loud that this person ever did anything good, and I’m done with that. I’m done with the classification, every human being has something of value that they brought to the table, especially Hitler,” he said during the live stream.

Kanye West was adamant about his praise of Hitler and said, “But they did good things too. We gotta stop dissing the Nazis all the time… I love Nazis.”

After the conversation on the show, West shared an image of a “swastika” with a Star of David-a symbol associated with Jewish identity and Judaism-on Twitter.

After that, he also shared his conversation with Twitter owner Elon Musk. the conversation, in which Musk is addressing Ye, read,  “Sorry, but you have gone too far. This is not love,” in reference to the photoshopped image of the “swastika” and the Star of David. In response, West messaged, “Who made you the judge.”

Then, Musk, a self-described “absolutist” of free speech, suspended West’s account for “incitement to violence.”

Musk tweeted: “Just clarifying that his account is being suspended for incitement to violence, not an unflattering pic of me being hosed by Ari.”
