Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth has once again urged the population, especially those who have not yet been vaccinated, to do so. This was while participating in the laying of the foundation stone of the New Eastern Suburb Community Health Centre in St François Xavier, Port Louis.
He stressed that once vaccinated, the risks of Covid 19 will be limited. According to him, the booster dose is important and he encouraged the population to go for it, stressing in passing that he and the members of his government will get their third dose in the coming days to set a good example.
In his speech Pravind Jugnauth also stressed that despite the pandemic and the difficult situation it has created, no project will be sacrificed. He also announced that the government has invested a lot to preserve employment and economic activities, especially through the Wage Assistance Scheme and the Self Employed Assistance Scheme.
According to him, the international institutions have asked to reduce certain expenses but the government is doing its best to protect public health while not neglecting any project.
He gave the example of Air Mauritius which has been saved adding that since the complete reopening of our borders, flights to Mauritius are full.
He also pointed out that his term as Prime Minister ends in three years and that by then he will have honoured the commitment he made to change the face of Mauritius for the better.
