Must Read

A heated altercation between two individuals in the Bambous area ended in a bloodbath on the evening of Monday April 1. A bricklayer was violently attacked with a saber to the head, forearm and tendon of his left foot. To avenge his brother, he attacked his assailant on Tuesday afternoon, cutting his wrist. Both men were admitted to hospital with serious injuries.

At around 11pm, an argument broke out between Stephan L’Amour, a notorious recidivist from Route Geoffroy, and Jean Michael Augustin, a 33-year-old bricklayer from Cité La Ferme, Bambous. The argument quickly degenerated into a bloody brawl. Stephan L’Amour inflicted violent blows with a sabre on Jean Michael Augustin. Seriously wounded in the head, forearm and left tendon, Jean Michael Augustin was taken to Victoria Hospital, Candos, where, after receiving treatment, he was admitted to the ward.

Stephan L'Amour

It was around 6 p.m. on Tuesday April 2 when John Royce Bègue surprised Stephan L’Amour walking along Avenue Elipée in Bambous. He was to avenge his brother Jean Michael Augustin by inflicting a violent sword blow, severing Stephan L’Amour’s left wrist.  Bleeding profusely and with his left hand still on the ground, Stephan L’Amour was rushed to hospital in a passing police vehicle.

Joyce Bègue is actively sought by the police.

An investigation has been opened at the Bambous police station to shed light on the circumstances of this bloody attack.
