On the afternoon of Thursday, December 16, the National Coast Guard (NCG) intercepted a speed boat with four crew members entering the Grand Bay channel. Caught in pursuit, the boat had to change course towards the shore. The four people on board had to abandon the boat to flee. A large shipment of cannabis, 56.1 kilos, was seized. The value of this drug is Rs 56 million.

It is the Adsu team of Grand-Bay led by the chief inspector Rohomutally, the inspector Soyfoo and the constable Gungaram who proceeded to the arrest of these three suspects. These three suspects are well known in the Adsu community. These police officers have been working hard since December 16 to apprehend these four people who were returning to the country with drugs. Once again the axis Reunion/Mauritius in the importation of drugs is confirmed.

In the afternoon of Thursday, December 23, Jean Paul Meunier, a 42-year-old skipper and his partner, Maryam Samiirah Soupe, 24, were arrested. They are accused of Perverting course of justice.
