Icac Wants A Paragraph Of Vivay Kanum Pursun’s Affidavit To Be Strike Out

This morning before Chief Justice Bibi Rehana Mungly-Gulbul, Icac solicitor Mahejabeen Chatoo has described a paragraph in Vivay Kanum Pursun’s affidavit as “highly defamatory”. The case relates to Vivay Kanum Pursun’s application for mandamus. He is asking the Supreme Court to issue an order summoning Icac and the police to summon the Attorney General, Maneesh Gobin, for questioning over allegations of bribery made by Ajay Jeetoo and Keegan Etwaroo in connection with the award of 250.76 hectares of state land at Dayot and Mangin to Eco Deer Park Association. Me Sanjeev Teeluckdharry, who represents Vivay Kanum Pursun, has requested that the matter be raised when the case is taken on its merits. The hearing date will now be set by circular.
