The Prime Minister paid a visit to the Caveau du Bienheureux Père Laval this Tuesday morning to take stock of the work being carried out in the run-up to the pilgrimage, which begins this Friday. He then took questions from journalists. The Stag Party affair was discussed at length. Pravind Jugnauth insisted that there were no allegations of corruption against Maneesh Gobin. At one point he said that he had not “heard” Keegan Etwaroo make any allegations against the new Foreign Minister. Then Pravind Jugnauth uttered this sentence. The Icac, he said, has come to say that there are no allegations of corruption against the Attorney General.

Pravind Jugnauth also commented on Sherry Singh’s remarks in court last week. He says he is awaiting a summons.

Pravind Jugnauth also said that the reshuffle of the Cabinet is about giving responsibilities to other people. He added that he is waiting for the end of the investigation into the St Louis affair before making a decision regarding Ivan Collendavelloo. Finally, he confirmed that he will be meeting Narendra Modi and Rishi Sunak, among others, on the sidelines of the G20 summit being held this weekend. The Prime Minister leaves the country on Wednesday.
