Undercover Agent will be the horse to beat in main race, The Media Temple – Bobby Poullé Memorial Cup, a Group 3 over 1500m at the Champ-de-mars racecourse. His toughest opponent will be Twist Of Fate on Saturday.
Twist Of Fate and Undercover Agent are the two logical favorites for the main event which will be run with the public who will be present at the Champ-de-Mars after more than a year and a half this Saturday. These two horses met three times in Mauritius. Undercover Agent has an edge on Twist Of Fate as he has beaten him twice. The Ricky Maingard-trained horse won the 2021 Barbe Cup, and then Undercover Agent finished in front of Twist Of Fate in the Gold Cup by taking second place behind Frosted Gold on December 5 2021.
Undercover Agent will have an advantage with their first line at the start. He showed a whole different face last year when he won two great end-to-end wins. He has a lot of good gallops. He is in excellent physical condition. It will be very difficult to beat him if he manages to race up front.
Twist Of Fate displayed good physical condition during its gallop last Tuesday at Champ-de-Mars. He is always very unlucky when drawing lines. He will once again be forced to race wide and keep Undercover Agent in his sights before starting the final straight. Twist Of Fate will carry a kilo of more than its main opponent.
Crank It Up did well in The Duchess Of York Cup, taking a good third place behind Royal Wulff. He was quick at the start, but he was hampered 1200m from the line. He will be ridden by the Brazilian jockey José De Souza and he will be a threat.
Stream Ahead came very close to victory on Meeting 4. He had been in the lead and was caught on the last stride by Red Mars. He will not have Michel-Platini De Oliveira in the saddle this time. He will have to perform at his best against tougher opponents with Swapneel Rama on his back.
