The grey horse was just too good for his opponents on Saturday. Frosted Gold won his third Group 1 race in Mauritius easily. Trained by Ricky Maingard, he raced in the middle of the field and he just flew in when the gap opened in the final straight. Top Mauritian jockey Rai Joorawon waited for the right moment to press the button and Frosted Gold drew clear his rivals easily in the last 100m to win easily beating Royal Wulff by 1.65 L. Twist Of Fate finished third in front of Alyaasaat.
It was the second win in a so-called classic race for the owner Jean-Michel Lee Shim. Whereas Rai Joorawon completed the Grand Slam with his win in The Faishon Heights Barbé Cup as he already won the three other most prestigious races The Duchess Of York Cup, The Maiden Cup and The Duke Of York Cup many times in his career. The only one missing was The Barbé Cup.
