Health Check Up Camp Organized By Indian Oil (Mauritius) Ltd Along With Global Rainbow Foundation

His Excellency Sh. Prithvirajsing Roopun, the President of Republic of Mauritius, on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, that is to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of diplomatic relationship between India and Mauritius, has launched the Health Checkup Camp at Indian Oil Filling Station at Vale, as organised by Indian Oil (Mauritius) Ltd in association with Global Rainbow Foundation (GRF), a NGO providing limbs to the people with disabilities. Such camps will be held at 10 different Filling Stations of Indian Oil across Mauritius in coming months. This is also to mark the 10th Anniversary of BMVSS, Jaipur Foot in Mauritius and all the beneficiaries who have been given prosthesis/orthosis will be invited for maintenance of the limbs as well as for health checkup in these camps.

His Excellency Sh. Prithvirajsing Roopun, the President of Republic of Mauritius was the Chief Guest of the function. Other distinguished guests included His Excellency Mr Abdool Rouf Bundhun, Former Vice President of Mauritius, His Excellency Mr. Vimarsh Aryan, Deputy High Commissioner of India to Mauritius and Dr. Armoogum Parsuramen, Founder-President of Global Rainbow Foundation.

Health Check Up Camp Organized By IOML With Global Rainbow Foundation

The partnership between Global Rainbow Foundation and IndianOil (Mauritius) Ltd dates to 2015, with the shared goal of providing artificial limbs to people with cognitive impairment in Mauritius, Rodrigues, and Seychelles through the Jaipur Foot initiative.

During his welcome address, Shri Sarad Kumar Baranwal, MD of IOML, emphasized how Indian Oil’s core values align business with corporate social responsibilities, aiming to enhance the lives of the people they serve. Mr. Baranwal said that apart from Global Rainbow Foundation, Indian Oil Mauritius has been closely involved with various other NGOs such as SOS Children Village, Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Disability Services Centre, CEDEM, Lizie Dan La Main and BAVIA to name a few. He expressed the company’s unwavering commitment to continue working tirelessly for the betterment of the people of Mauritius, along with Energizing Mauritius, being major fuel provider of the country in aviation, bunker, gas oil, lubricants and retail. Mr. Baranwal also expressed his gratitude to the government of Mauritius for their unstinted support for the growth of IOML and also to the people of Mauritius for embracing IOML whole heartedly to the extent where IOML is one of the major players in the fuel supplies.

H.E. Mr. Prithvirajsing Roopun, the President, commended in his speech the collaborative efforts of Indian Oil (Mauritius) Ltd and Global Rainbow Foundation, applauding their work in providing individuals with a second chance through artificial limbs. He praised Indian Oil’s contributions in various social sectors, such as health, education, child protection, Sports and Sustainability while Energizing Mauritius. He spoke of the growth journey of IOML in Mauritius and putting up Filling Stations across the island in a short span. He also touched upon the special bond between India and Mauritius on the occasion of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

In his speech, Mr. Vimarsh Aryan, Deputy High Commissioner of India, talked about the various initiatives taken by Indian Oil in Mauritius to improve the life of Mauritian and mentioned that this partnership of IOML and GRF is the perfect example of bonding between two countries. He thanked the government of Mauritius for the support extended to Indian Oil Mauritius Ltd and other Indian   PSUs.

Dr. Armoogum Parsuramen shared how the relationship between Indian Oil and GRF started for this noble cause. Up to this point, GRF has distributed 2500 artificial limbs, with the youngest recipient being only 15 months old. He mentioned that a van donated by Indian Oil in 2018 has been converted into a maintenance van with the contribution of equipments from Jaipur Foot and it goes    to the doorstep of the beneficiaries rather than them coming at their Centre and hence creating lot of ease for them.

The MD of IOML presented an Indian Oil Rhino to the Honorable President of Mauritius and also shared about the initiatives taken by Indian Oil for the conservation of Rhinos in India.

Dr. Parsuramen presented a symbol of Jaipur Foot to all the dignitaries.
