Global Rainbow Foundation Celebrates 10 Years

The Global Rainbow Foundation (GRF) celebrated its 10th anniversary during the week. On this symbolic day, the president and founder, Armoogum Parsuramen, reaffirmed the GRF’s commitment to the campaign for the ratification of a Disability Act in Mauritius. “Our wish for this tenth anniversary of the Global Rainbow Foundation is that the government and the Minister of Social Security present the Disability Bill to Parliament this year,” he said. The event was also an opportunity to look back on the ten years of the organization’s existence, and to celebrate its tireless efforts to improve the living conditions and empower the disability community. To mark the celebration of this important anniversary, the Global Rainbow Foundation launched the 2nd edition of the book ‘I Rise’. A Coffee Table Book that tells the success stories of 21 people with disabilities. Prof. Armoogum Parsuramen also presented the GRF Master Plan 2021-2030, defining its future activities.

Global Rainbow Foundation Celebrates 10 Years

Due to Covid-19, the ceremony was held online in the presence of staff, collaborators and beneficiaries of the foundation. Among the distinguished guests were Robert Banamwana, Strategic Planning Officer of the United Nations Office in Mauritius, and the Chief Guest, Cassam Uteem, former President of the Republic of Mauritius. In 2021, the Global Rainbow Foundation will continue to break new ground in the empowerment and education of people with disabilities through its many initiatives.
