Saturday, October 17, the finals men and women of the Republic Cup were played at the Phoenix gymnasium in the presence of Minister Stephan Toussaint
In the men’s competition, Curepipe Starlight SC beat AS Vacoas-Phoenix 31-27, the third place for Union Sportive de Beau-Bassin Rose-Hill. The top scorer was Daniel Yeung Yin of AS Vacoas-Phoenix. Curepipe Starlight won the title for the fifth consecutive time while AS vacoas-Phoenix is the defending league champion. Curepipe Starlight SC captain Julien Virginie makes a statement in the video.
In the women’s league, Curepipe Rangers HBC beat Union Sportive de Beau-Bassin Rose-Hill 18-13. Third place for Quartier Militaire Rising Sars HBC. The best scorer is Annecy Achille of AS Vacoas-Phoenix. Curepipe Rangers Handball Club won for the first time in its history a major trophy.
