Full Reopening Of Borders: More Than 42,000 Passengers Have Landed In Mauritius

Must Read

Since October 1st, date of the complete reopening of our borders, 42,379 passengers have disembarked at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam airport, including 34,579 tourists and 7,800 Mauritians.  An interesting figure for specialists in the field because 53% of these tourists opted to spend their stay in hotels while 47% opted for residences, guest houses or apartments that are licensed by the Tourism Authority.

According to the figures of the Airport Terminal Operations Ltd, 10,583 passengers traveled by Emirates Airlines from Dubai, followed by Paris Charles de Gaule, with 6,976 passengers and St-Denis with 6,029 passengers.

13 airlines have been landing on the Plaisance tarmac since October 1.

It seems that tourist arrivals will increase as time goes by, especially since Air Mauritius has planned to make more flights to Europe. Indeed, Air Mauritius plans a daily flight between Paris and Mauritius from November 1st, or 5 flights per week between London and Mauritius.

Flights between Plaisance and South Africa will also increase in a few days, with 7 flights per week from November 7.

Air Mauritius is also preparing to serve countries such as India and Australia as soon as the health situation in these two countries allows it. Flights will also have to increase for Reunion and Rodrigues.
