Forbes’ List Of 10 Highest-Paid Entertainers In The World In 2022

Forbes has recently published their list of the 10 highest-paid entertainers in the world in 2022.

The list includes celebrities like Bad Bunny and bands such as the Rolling Stones and Genesis along with Taylor Swift being the only female entertainer on the list. It also includes high earners such as filmmakers and TV creators like those behind “The Simpsons” and “South Park.”

The top earners in 2022 pocketed about $1.35 billion, which is half of last year’s list which included entertainers like Kanye West, Jay-Z and Bruce Springsteen.

Drummer Phil Collins along with the rest of the rock band sold the rights to portions of their song catalogue to Concord Music Group in September for $300 million. The contracts included many of Collins’ solos such as his hit song “In the Air Tonight.”

Sting: $210 million

The musician and his band the Police, in 2022, sold the rights to their music catalogue and his solo discography to Universal Music Group. The frontman earned $300 million as before fees from the sales.

The “South Park’s” creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, earned $160 million as they signed a contract with Paramount+ in 2021. In six years, the exclusive deal will give them $935 million. The partnership also enables the creators to release 14 original “South Park” films for streaming service.

The creators of the popular animated comedy “The Simpsons” pocketed over $100 million in 2022.

Since 1989, animated sitcoms have produced over 700 episodes. According to Forbes, all the seasons of the show shifted from FX to Disney+ giving the creators $105 million annually.

The Oscar-winning actor 2022 recently starred in movies such as “Bullet Train”, “Babylon” and “The Lost City.” The actor pocketed $113 million as fees after he made a deal in December where he sold his production company, Plan B Entertainment to Mediawan.

Swift has been in the highest-earners list six times in the past, and was on the top of the list in 2019 and is the only woman that has made it to the list.

Bad Bunny: $88 million
