Family Victims Of Extortion

Must Read

Rs 36,500 is the amount of money that a resident of the village of Camp de Masque was asked to pay to keep a video of her son confessing to a robbery from being made public. The son of this woman, 27 years old, was attacked with a samurai on his whole body by an individual who was called by one of his friends. This was so that he would confess to stealing a gold chain and a pair of high heel shoes.

“Si to pa fer sa, mo pou koup twa”, this is what an individual owner of a car wash in Riche Mare, Flacq said to this resident of Camp de Masque. In his statement made in the afternoon of Tuesday, April 25, the victim recounted his assault and the case of extortion committed against his mother.

On Monday, April 24, around 9 o’clock in the morning, he was at the home of one of his friends in Riche Mare, Flacq. At one point this 28-year-old man asked him for his cell phone to make a call. Shortly thereafter, an individual showed up at this location armed with a sword commonly known as a samurai. This individual, whom he knew under an alias, was the manager of a car wash. He started to attack the resident of Camp de Masque with his weapon.

The friend of the victim and this individual had to ask him to confess to being the author of the theft of a gold chain and a pair of high heel shoes. The man told him, “si to pa fer sa, mo po koup twa”. The confession of the resident of Camp d Masque was filmed with his cell phone.

On Tuesday, April 25, around 9 am, his friend arrived at his home and demanded from his mother the sum of Rs 36 500 so that he would not post this video on his Facebook page. His mother said she had no choice but to comply with his demand.

An investigation was opened on this case at the level of the police station of Flacq.
