Education: Back To School In Two Stages Under The Threat Of The Pandemic

Must Read

The second term begins this Monday, September 13 for secondary and primary schools.  A second term that will last until December 17. That is to say a long term, covid obliges.

And during this term, students will go to class with the same frequency as during the first term, that is to say two days a week for some and three days a week for others. However, from October 18, classes will resume as usual, which means that students will have to go to school every day.

The reason is that by then, all students between the ages of 12 and 17 will have to be vaccinated. The government has ordered nearly 76,000 Pfizer vaccines for this purpose, which will be available in a few weeks.

A total of 138,901 teenagers are involved in this vaccination campaign and, according to the Ministry of Health, 17-year-olds will be the first to be vaccinated with the Pfizer.

However, some parents and teenagers are not reassured to be administered this vaccine especially after some adults fell ill after the vaccine.

But health professionals are reassuring. This vaccine is best suited for adolescents. It is the only vaccine authorized for people under 18 years old.

However, this new school year is considered very difficult by several education unions. Especially since the cases of contamination to the covid 19 in the country have not decreased. Apprehension on the side of students, parents but also by the teaching and non-teaching staff, especially that after October 18, observe the social distancing in the classes will be virtually impossible.

And the complete opening of our borders on October 1 will not help matters according to some.
