20 years. That’s how much time painter Deepa Bauhadoor is still spending with her brushes. The artist is currently preparing her next solo exhibition.
In her studio, it is nature that inspires her. Here, landscapes and there the flora takes features that only the artist has the secret: “My paintings are often the beautiful part of nature. To paint nature is for me something vital. I dedicated two of my first exhibitions to the ocean and sugar cane,” says Deepa who completed her studies in fine arts in India.
Having several exhibitions to her credit, the artist is currently preparing a new one: “Currently, I am negotiating for a solo exhibition in a room. The theme of the show will be Black and it will be monochrome abstracts. For the occasion I will exhibit about 40 paintings.
As a reminder, Deepa Bauhadoor is also presenting one of her paintings at the exhibition titled Gamat – in tribute to singer Sona Noyan. The exhibition is on view to the public until October 29 at the Blue Penny Museum – Port Louis. She has also exhibited abroad, notably in India and China.
