The seminar on the 6th Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and China-Mauritius relations was held today on the Zoom Digital Platform between 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm. The seminar began with the presentation of the 50 participants by Mr. Kee Chong Li Kwong Wing to the Chinese Ambassador, S.E. ZHU Liying who told us that the objective of this meeting is to strengthen the existing link between our two countries.
During his interlocution, while reflecting on the 100th anniversary of the Chinese communist party and what it has achieved up to now, S. E. ZHU Liying stated that “it will always be necessary to strengthen the central core of the party” and for “the President of the People’s Republic of China; Xi Jinping forms a new strong and determine the central core of the party” continues his Excellency.
For any country and government, it is very important to have a captain to direct its population in the right direction. Especially now, the world has not been in such an alarming situation since the Second World War. Thus, “a farsighted, determined and lucid captain is needed to lead his boat firmly in the right direction in such difficult moments“.
During his speech, ZHU Liying spoke about the two long-term goals President Xi Jinping came forward with. The first goal was to eliminate absolute poverty from the Republic of China representing 1, 4 billion people.
“This goal has been achieved this year“, expressed His Excellency proudly.
The second goal is to become a modern socialist power for the 100th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China in 2050. “We are running to reach this centenary goal” is used to describe the effort being put forward to attain this goal.
The vision of China does not stop there, with the collaboration of the African Union, China’s vision to bring Chinese technology across Africa creates a new route of the latest Chinese technology and development. Just like in the past, the Silk Road was a network of trade routes connecting China and the Far East with the Middle East and Europe. Mauritius could play a major role in connecting China with African Union acting as a bridge and creating this new route.
