Collectif Alalila Takes Up The Rivière Tanier

Must Read

The Tanier River is again revisited. This time by the Collectif Alalila which includes Virginie Gaspard, Steve Brunet, Daniella Residu, the Kreol Diez among others. Sandra Marka, one of the founders plans other projects.

The Tanier river has rocked several generations of Mauritians. To pay him an umpteenth tribute, the Collectif Alalila has just given the song new colors. “The collective was created by Corally Lemaire and me. The idea came to us during the program D’ici et d’ailleurs – a program that I host on social networks. The starting point was to gather artists around a unifying song. When it came to choosing the song, the Tanier River stood out because it is probably the only inter-generational song,” explains Sandra, a Mauritian who lives in Reunion Island.

Then, it was necessary to gather the artists: “To do this, we have invited all the artists who have been on the show. Once this step was completed, everything went quickly.”

And for good reason, since January 21 the clip is already available: “We have very good feedback. The older generation is enjoying listening to the song while the new generation is discovering it. The song is also broadcast on several international radios in the diaspora.”

The collective also has several projects that it intends to put in place during the year: “I cannot say more for the moment. But we have several projects and not only concerning music.”
