Must Read

For Arvin Boolell, the population has the right to know from where will the money come, that is the money that will used for financing the recovery plan of Air Mauritius. He held a press conference via Zoom this Friday 1st October and pointed out that the Deed of Company Arrangement, voted by a large majority of Air Mauritius’ creditors, is a refinancing plan for the national airline. So from where will that money come?

Arvin Boolell said that the State should be committed to the welfare of the employees of the national airline and that Air Mauritius must be further consolidated. He also urged that Parliament must be recalled so that questions can be asked and answers obtained. He further stated that if the money will come from the Mauritius Investment Corporation, there is a need for transparency.

Arvin Boolell insisted that Rs 9.5 billion of the Rs 12 billion will be paid to the lessors, the hedging companies and those who have shares in the company. He also asked that the government stops interfering in the affairs of Air Mauritius.

Any current or future government should make a commitment to stay away from Air Mauritius”, claimed the PTr, in a press conference on Friday, whilst taking note of the appointment of Ken Arian to head Airport Holdings Ltd.
