Boolell: “There Is Still More To Be Done To Get Off The EU Blacklist”

Must Read

Arvin Boolell is satisfied that Mauritius is no longer on the grey list of the Financial Action Task Force. However, he believes that there are more efforts to be done to get off the European Union blacklist. He was speaking at the PTr’s weekly press conference on Friday 22 October. However, the labour MP points out that Mauritius has got off with a warning. The Independent Commission Against Corruption as well as other institutions must act fully to combat money laundering, argues the red leader in the National Assembly. This will allow Mauritius to leave the European Union blacklist soon, he said.

Arvin Boolell congratulated the operators of the financial sector. It’s thanked to them that Mauritian financial jurisdiction is no longer on the grey list of the Financial Action Task Force. Arvin Boolell recalls that between 2015 and 2019, the government hosted troubled personalities such as Sobrinho, Bastos, Shetty and Agliotti. He and his colleagues MPs from Labour Party also insisted that it is under this government that our country fell into the black and grey lists.

Present at the conference, Ritesh Ramful added that we must not forget that it was under this government that our country sank into the black and grey lists.
