Ashis Ramphul is making his way in the music industry. With 9 singles to his credit, the young artist from L’Escalier doesn’t intend to stop there and plans another single in December.
Music and Ashis is first of all a family story. And for good reason, the father of the young man of 26 years is himself a singer: “I inherited my passion for music from my father. I’ve been singing since I was a child.”
As a teenager, Ashis will take singing lessons at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute: “I took singing lessons for three years. It really helped me to master the technique.”
With the lessons under his belt, the artist began to write his own material: “I had to start somewhere, so I started with discounts. Then, I started to write my own texts and melodies. One thing led to another and I also released a 5-track EP in 2020.”
This year on the occasion of Divali, the artist has just released Kamariya: “It’s a mood song whose video will be released in a few weeks. Currently, I am promoting it on social media.”
