This father of an only daughter was devastated until the afternoon of Wednesday 31 August when his 15 year old daughter returned to the family home. The latter had run away. The parents of this only child have been living a real nightmare for over a week. The schoolgirl, who attends a well-known private institution, had left with her 16-year-old boyfriend, whom she met on Facebook two years ago. The teenager, who lives in Caroline’s village of Bel Air Rivière Sèche, is actively sought by the police.
The father, who is a building contractor, accompanied his daughter to a police station in the Eastern Division to lodge a complaint, which was recorded by a policewoman from the Family Protection Brigade. The 40-year-old explained that he had given a statement on Monday 22 August to report the disappearance of his only daughter at around 12 noon on Friday 19 August.
Still in shock, she told her parents where she had been during her elopement with her boyfriend. She said she did not have sexual relations with the young man. On Friday 19 August, she had left the construction site where her father works in the eastern part of the country and did not return.
That day she had gone to meet her boyfriend. During her escapade, she went to several parts of the country.
