A raid by police officers of the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (Adsu) of the Central Division on Wednesday morning, April 12, at Route Bassin, Quatre-Bornes resulted in the seizure of cannabis worth Rs 711,000 from the home of a 24-year-old youth. The latter was also found in possession of 18.2 grams of seeds of this drug and the sum of Rs 5425. This money is suspected to come from the sale of this drug.
It is on the basis of certain information and after hours of surveillance that these police officers of Adsu led by Sergeant Gokhool searched the house where Tiruven Veeren lives. This Adsu team had information that this young man was involved in drug trafficking.
A search at his home resulted in the discovery of four resealable bags containing a quantity of leaves and another resealable bag containing several cannabis seeds, 18.2 grams. The amount of cannabis seized is 711 grams. The police found in the possession of Tiruven Veeren the sum of 5425. This is suspected to be from the sale of the drug.
After his arrest, Tiruven Veeren was placed in a cell in the detention center of Vacoas. This Thursday, April 13, he will be brought before the court of Curepipe on a provisional charge of drug trafficking.
In the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 11, Jeremy Kersley Christophe, 19 years old, living in Pavillon, Cap Malheureux, was arrested for drug trafficking. Dane worth Rs 604 000 was seized at his home. His arrest was made by police officers of Adsu of Trou aux Biches, led by Sergeant Ramtohul.

A sum of Rs 6700 in different denominations was also seized. This one is suspected to come from the sale of the drug.
This suspect was brought before the court of Pamplemousses the same day under a provisional charge of drug trafficking. He was placed in detention at the central prison of Beau Bassin.
