Who will join Canada, the last nation to have obtained its ticket for the 2022 World Cup? Seven new tickets for the World Cup in Qatar will be distributed on Tuesday 29 March, including five for the African zone.
The draw for the final phase will be held this Friday. The 32 teams will be divided into four hats (eight per pot), numbered from 1 to 4. Hat 1 will be the first to be drawn, followed by the 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Once a ball is drawn from a hat, another ball will be drawn to determine the group of each selection (A to H).
A small subtlety is that teams from the same confederation cannot be placed in the same group, with the exception of UEFA, which has 13 representatives. Five of the eight groups will have two European nations.
The second leg of the third round qualifiers starts with Nigeria – Ghana (0-0 in the first leg) and the rematch of the last Africa Cup of Nations final: Senegal – Egypt (0-1 in the first leg). The other three matches of the African continent start at 21:30: Algeria – Cameroon (1-0 in the first leg), Morocco – DR Congo (1-1 in the first leg) and Tunisia – Mali (1-0 in the first leg).
