On a mission to Mauritius as part of her visit to the countries of the Indian Ocean region, the Secretary General of La Francophonie, H.E. Mrs Louise MUSHIKIWABO, will visit the project “Economic empowerment of women through new banana fibre technologies” on Friday 9 September. This project is supported by the association Entreprendre au Féminin Océan Indien (EFOI) and is financed by the “La Francophonie avec elles” Fund. This project is placed under the banner of sustainable tourism and the economic empowerment of women. She will also meet the beneficiaries of the “Partaz kiltir moris” project, an initiative of the Diocesan Commission for Tourism, whose aim is to promote fair and solidarity-based tourism. This mission is part of the dynamic of a modernising Francophonie and will be an opportunity for the Secretary General to discuss the subjects that are at the heart of the OIF’s programmes, including: the spread of the French language, the promotion of digital technology, teacher mobility, entrepreneurship and training, the blue economy, the environment, fundamental rights, gender equality and youth.

The International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) has 54 member states, 7 associate member states and 27 observer countries.
