WhatsApp Launches New Feature To Undo Deleted Messages

Must Read

We, sometimes, delete an important WhatsApp message without even realizing it and be unable to recover the deleted message. WhatsApp is launching a new feature to retrieve deleted messages. But for now, the feature will be released in iOS beta. “WhatsApp is releasing an undo feature to recover deleted messages on iOS beta! If you wanted to delete a message for everyone, but you deleted it for you by mistake, this feature will save you”, WABetaInfo posted on Twitter.

A screenshot was shared by WABetaInfo explaining that when a WhatsApp message is deleted by selecting the option “delete for me”, a snack shows up saying that the message is deleted. To recover the deleted message, select the “undo” option. So, deleting the message is a way to know whether this feature is available on your WhatsApp account.

It is to be noted that if the snack bar disappears, the users cannot use this feature and will not be to recover the deleted WhatsApp messages. WEBetaInfo said, “In addition, the snack bar doesn’t show up for messages deleted for everyone, at the moment.”

It also added, “You should be able to get the feature by updating WhatsApp to the 22.18.0.70 beta available on TestFlight but if the snack bar doesn’t show up, don’t worry: WhatsApp is used to release feature to certain beta testers day by day, so you should be able to use the undo feature when the next update will be available over the coming weeks.”

The users, currently, have the choice to delete messages just for themselves or request to delete the messages for everyone. Deleting messages for everyone means that only certain messages sent to an individual or in a group chat will be deleted. This is helpful only when the messages are sent to the wrong person or group chat.

To delete messages for everyone: –

Step 1: Open WhatsApp and go to chat where the wrong message has been sent.

Step 2: Tap and hold the messages. And selecting the option to delete multiple messages at once.

Step 3: Select Delete and choose the option Delete for everyone.

To delete message for yourself: –

Step 1: Open WhatsApp and go to the chat containing the unwanted message.

Step 2: Tap and hold the messages. And select delete multiple messages at once.

Step 3: Select Delete. And select Delete for me.
