A 19-year-old woman working as a hostess in a restaurant at Tribeca Mall in Trianon has lodged a complaint of sexual harassment against one of her work colleagues. The 26-year-old waiter was arrested on Tuesday January 30.
In her complaint lodged on Saturday January 27, the young woman, who lives in the Malherbe housing estate, Eau-Coulée, recounted the incident, which took place on the way home from work. It was around 2.20 a.m. on Wednesday January 24.
That day, she was in a van that took her home. Also in the van were two other colleagues, including the suspect. She was sitting in the third row of seats behind the driver. The suspect was sitting right next to her.
When the van reached Valentina Mall in Phoenix, the suspect, who lives in the L’Oiseau housing estate, Floréal took her left hand without her permission and placed it on his sex on top of his pants. She says she immediately removed her hand from the area and blamed the man for the inappropriate gesture. In the meantime, the suspect removed his sex from his pants to please himself in front of the woman.
Arriving at his destination, he got out of the vehicle. The young woman later confided in her colleague who was in the van.
On Tuesday January 30, the suspect was arrested by a team from the Phoenix police station. He was subsequently placed in a cell at the Vacoas detention center.
