Father and son are accused of kidnapping a 57-year-old woman. According to her statement, she owes money to the Shibchurn’s. This would be the reason for her kidnapping. Vishal Shibchurn and his son are facing 3 provisional charges, namely false imprisonment, premeditated assault and robbery with violence. The two appeared in court this afternoon. After the police objected to their release on bail, they were returned to the police cells. They are due to appear again in courts this Friday for their bail motion.
Last Monday, a 58-year-old St. Hubert resident criticised the well-known recidivist and his kid. She says she couldn’t pay back the money she borrowed from the family. She continues, “Mayur Shibchurn came to my house at the end of last week to attack her and her uncle” (68).
The 50-year-old stated that after going through a difficult situation, Vishal Shibchurn and his son forced them to withdraw cash from a commercial bank in Mahebourg against their choice. The victims’ injuries were discovered, and the bank’s Teller declined to carry out the withdrawal request.
