The much-publicised Mauritian in danger in Ukraine, Kevin Allagapen is finally safe, and with his family. Dr Chandan Jankee, Mauritius’ ambassador to Russia posted on social media in the evening: “The Mauritian, Kevin Allagapen and his family are in Poland”.
Dr Chandan Jankee said in his post that he shared a video call with the 36-year-old father, his fiancée Tatiana, and their infant son. They were able to reach Poland and were helped by the Mauritian Shu Bum who sent a car to pick them up and who will provide them with accommodation. The Ambassador expressed his gratitude to this committed Mauritian.
