Two Residents Of Cite Kennedy, Quatre-Bornes Actively Wanted For Rebellion

Must Read

A team of the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (Adsu) of the Western Division was helpless in the afternoon of Tuesday, January 3, in the face of a hostile crowd in Kennedy City, Quatre-Bornes. Two individuals who were arrested a few minutes earlier were released by this crowd of over seventy-five people. These two suspects were driving a blue Suzuki car. They were suspected of transporting drugs. The driver of the car and another person who incited the crowd to rebellion, who are known to the police of Adsu, are actively sought.

The Adsu team, led by a police sergeant, received information late in the afternoon of Tuesday, January 3, that a car was going to arrive in the Kennedy neighborhood, Quatre-Bornes, with a load of drugs. A surveillance was set up at this location. It was at the corner of Kington and Hilary Blood avenues, Quatre-Bornes that the suspect car was spotted at 5:20 pm by the Adsu men who were on board two vehicles. The Suzuki was driven by Jean Giany Kenzy Moonsamy, 25 years old of Avenue La Paix, Quatre-Bornes.  He is registered with Adsu. He was driving on Avenue Kington in the direction of cité Kennedy. When he saw the police vehicles he reversed his car to enter the Kennedy city. The Adsu police officers had to identify themselves when they reached his car. He had to turn left to escape. At that moment the front part of his car hit an Adsu vehicle which tried to block his way.

The driver and three occupants of the car who got out of their vehicle and tried to flee were quickly immobilized.  The actions of these men raised suspicions that they might be carrying drugs or other incriminating items. The driver and passenger began to insult the police officers when they were asked to give their identities.

They were informed that they would be ticketed for loitering. The two men began shouting, “bann… crapo pe rod trap mwa vinn tir mwa”. About fifty people were to surround the police officers. Due to the turn of events, the two suspects and the vehicle could not be searched. The two suspects were placed in a police vehicle. A resident of Avenue La Confiance, cité Kennedy, Quatre-Bornes, Beardsley Ivans Langue who arrived on the scene invited the crowd to rebel against these police officers. This is how about twenty-five other people joined the hostile crowd. Beardsley Langue then removed the two arrested men to the police car. At the same time, the other suspects were to take advantage of the opportunity to run off in the direction of Kennedy City.

Reinforcement was called in. Beardsley Langue, who strangled an Adsu policeman with both hands, began to provoke a policeman who was armed with a revolver. A vehicle and the Adsu and Suzuki were damaged during this scuffle.
