Travellers’ Saviour: The Johnson & Johnson Vaccine

Must Read

The vaccination programme for future travellers concerns all those who have already been inoculated with AstraZeneca, Covaxin, Sinopharm and Sputnik.

The only condition put forward by the Ministry of Health in its press release is that in order to receive this single dose of Johnson & Johnson, it will be necessary to have an interval of at least 4 months since the second vaccination dose.

For those who intend to fly to China and who have already been vaccinated with AstraZeneca, Covaxin and Sputnik, they will be served two doses of Sinopharm vaccine with a minimum interval of 4 months since their second dose. The inoculation of these two doses with Sinopharm will be done on a one-month interval. Sick persons travelling for medical reasons or treatment may only be accompanied by one person who meets the eligibility criteria of a normal traveller.

Interested parties are requested to make an appointment on 212 44 64 or 2108583, at the International Vaccination Centre, Mutual Aid Building, Port Louis from Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm and from 9am to 11am on Saturdays. The required documents are the original and a copy of the identity card, the vaccination card and a confirmed airline ticket. For those travelling for medical reasons, proof of certified treatment will also be required.
