An undercover operation by officers of the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (ADSU) of the South Division led to the arrest of two women and a man in Morcellement SIT, New France, on Monday evening, June 20. This after being found in possession of 210 Pregabalin tablets, classified as psychotropic drugs, a pair of scissors and 10 prescriptions with its carbon paper and 4 copies of carbon paper prescriptions. The three suspects, who live in Holy Cross, are Mohammad Ibrahim Faez Lallmahamood, 31 years and his concubine, Bibi Nabeela Kanowah, 30 years and Nelly Jiheemla, 27 years.
It was around 19:15 on Monday, June 20 that this operation was mounted by a team, led by Sergeant Tapsee. These police officers presented themselves as potential buyers of the psychotropic tablets and they took a brown Nissan car driven by Ibrahim Lallmahamood. This vehicle was to be intercepted at Morcellement SIT, New France. A search was then conducted on the Nissan.
These officers were to find 3 boxes of Pregabalin 50 mg tablets, containing 90 tablets, 4 boxes of Pregabatin 150 mg, containing 20 tablets, another box of Pregabalin 150 mg containing 10 tablets, 2 boxes of the same 150 mg tablet containing 60 tablets and 2 other blister packs of the same 150 mg tablet with 20 tablets.
These policemen also seized a pair of scissors, 10 prescriptions with their carbon papers and 4 others of these carbon papers of these prescriptions. During the evening of Monday, June 20, a search was conducted at the home of the couple Ibrahim Lallmahamood and Nabeela Kanowah at rue Capitaine Pontré, Sainte-Croix and at Nelly Jiheemla at rue Isidore Bouquet, Sainte-Croix, but no drugs were found. The suspect Ibrahim Lallmahamood was placed in a cell at the detention center of Moka while the two women are detained at the police station of Bel-Ombre.
On Tuesday morning, June 21, Ibrahim Lallmahamood, Nabeela Kanowah and Nelly Jiheemla were brought before the Souillac court. They are facing a provisional charge of drug trafficking and possession of dangerous drugs with intent to sell. They were taken back to the police cell.
