Must Read

One of the four provisional charges against Jean Luca Ryan Laurette was struck out this Tuesday 13 December 2022 in the Moka court. It is the provisional charge of possession of 700g of synthetic drugs for resale. This decision follows a request by the prosecution lawyer, Manjula Kumari Boojharut, Senior State Counsel.  Jean Luca Ryan Laurette, son of Bruneau Laurette, remains facing three other provisional charges. These include possession of 46.25 kilos of hashish, money laundering and possession of firearms. On Tuesday 13 December 2022, Mr Akil Bissessur, who represents Jean Luca Ryan Laurette, came with a motion to strike all provisional charges against Ryan Laurette. He argues there was an abuse of process. The said motion will be debated on 23 January 2022.

On 22 November, some seventeen days after his arrest by the PHQ Special Striking Team (SST), Jean Luca Ryan Laurette (23 years old) obtained his release on bail during his appearance in court in Moka yesterday.
