The Different Omicron Sub-Variants Are Present In Mauritius

According to the latest report from the Ministry of Health, 326 cases of different Omicron sub-variants have been detected. They are indeed present in Mauritius and are in the community. The communiqué issued this afternoon concerns the period from March 8 to April 3. 341 samples had been taken. According to the analyses, there are 18 cases of the BA.1 sub-variant, 16 local and 2 imported. 285 cases of the BA.2 sub-variant were identified. Of these, 275 are from the community, 9 are imported and 1 is from Rodrigues. In addition, 27 local and 5 imported cases of BA.4 have been identified, as well as 3 local cases of BA.5. And to top it all off, there are 3 local cases of a combination of BA.1 and BA.2 sub-variants.
