Thai Princess Rushed To Hospital After Fainting From Heart Problem, Palace Says

Must Read

The Thai King’s eldest daughter fainted from a heart condition on Wednesday evening, informed Thailand’s royal palace.

Thai King Vajiralongkorn’s eldest daughter Princess Bajrakitiyabha collapsed while training her dogs north-east of Bangkok, the palace stated.

The Princess, 44, was taken to a nearby hospital, after which she was flown in a helicopter to Bangkok, where she is getting treatment.

According to the statement by the palace, she is “stable to a certain extent”.

According to the BBC’s correspondent in Bangkok, Jonathan Head, the medical bulletins which the royal palace issued cannot be properly understood. The only statement issued regarding the health of Princess Bajrakitiyabha is complicated and unable to tell how serious her condition is.

The statement is also not suggestive of the condition of her current health. Some reports claim that it is more severe than earlier stated.

The princess is the eldest daughter of the king and from his first wife Princess Soamsawali. She has always been involved in the King’s innermost circle since he succeeded King Bhumibol in 2016, and positioned as a senior officer in the king’s personal guard.

Not just a part of, Princess Bajrakitiyabha is the most accomplished visible member of the inner royal circle, and is a post-graduate in law from two US universities.

Though King Vajiralongkorn has not named his heir yet, Princess Bajrakitiyabha is viewed as the best contender to the throne.

She qualifies for the throne under a 1924 Palace Law of Succession since she is one of the king’s three legal title-holding children.

She enjoys working out and has a long history of supporting Thai penal reform.

Since Thailand has one of the highest concentrations of female convicts in the world, she speaks up especially for their rights.

From 2012 until 2014, she served as Thailand’s ambassador to Austria.
