Must Read

“Air Mauritius”, the national aviation company of Mauritius, will be withdrawn from the official market of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius at the close of business tomorrow, Thursday, March 31, 2022. This is what the board of directors announced to shareholders and the public in a statement.

The release explains “that following the compulsory acquisition of the shares of the dissenting shareholders of Air Mauritius Limited in accordance with Rule 39 of the Takeover Rules by Airport Holdings Limited, Air Mauritius Limited will no longer meet the requirements of the Listing Rules for its listing on the Official Market”.

The board of directors of Air Mauritius Limited will be required to publish the outstanding financial statements of the company, including the audited accounts for the years ended March 31, 2020 and March 31, 2021, by October 31, 2022.

It will be recalled that at the end of the administration, Airport Holdings Ltd (AHL) held 40.4% of Air Mauritius (MK) shares, Airports of Mauritius (AML) 20.9% and the government 6.6%. The total of 67.9% was therefore held by a homogeneous group. As this group exceeded 51% of the shareholding, it could launch and has already launched a Mandatory Offer to buy the remaining shares.
