Must Read

A 30-year-old constable assigned to the Special Mobile Force (SMF) was booked on Monday afternoon, November 28, for domestic violence. This resident of the village of Epinay, Pamplemousses was denounced by his wife, who is pregnant, in a statement made at the police station of Montagne Longue. This police officer, who is on parole for the same offense, was first arrested on Friday, October 28. This Tuesday, November 29, he was presented before the court of the Pamplemousses division.

In her complaint made at 11:25 a.m. on Monday, November 28, the young pregnant woman explained that she is a victim of domestic violence from her husband. The latter, she said, does not stop looking for trouble with her. On Sunday, November 27, around 6 pm, following an argument about her health, her husband strangled her with his right hand and threatened her with a knife.

Although she was not injured, she said she felt pain in her left ear. She expressed the wish to be examined at the North Hospital. Her husband was arrested on the orders of Assistant Commissioner of Police Shaylesh Gukhool, the divisional commander. The suspect had been released on bail on October 31 after his first arrest for domestic violence.
