Sabotage Of The Champ De Mars Runway: A Third Arrest Made On Tuesday Night

Must Read

A 22-year-old resident of Tranquebar was arrested for threatening the main witness in the Champ de Mars runway sabotage case. On Saturday, booby traps, i.e. nails and pieces of iron, were found by employees of the Mauritius Turf Club on the track. The Tranquebar resident is the third suspect arrested in the case. He was wanted by the Port Louis CID after a complaint from the main witness the day before. The latter claims that he was in a snack bar in the area when the 22-year-old, who was in the company of other individuals, approached him and threatened him. He blamed him for giving up his name to the police.  According to our information, the third suspect will be presented before the Port Louis Court this afternoon. Sanjeev Kistoparsad, the main suspect, was arrested on Saturday. According to the Safe City cameras, the Tranquebar resident was on a motorbike on Friday night in the vicinity of the Champ-de-Mars. He was charged with attempted animal torture at the Bail and Remand Court on Sunday. He remains in custody. A second suspect, Jean Andy Samuel Domingue, was also arrested Monday in connection with the case. The 30-year-old Tranquebar resident has also been charged with attempted torture of animals and remains in custody.
