Rs 150 Million Worth Of Cannabis From Reunion Island Seized: Seven Suspects Arrested Including A Police Officer

A three-week long operation has allowed early this Monday morning of October 03 to intercept a van with 100 kilos of cannabis coming from Reunion Island on the Coastal road of Black River. This operation, which was mounted by the men of the Special Striking Team (SST) of the Police Headquarters, resulted in 7 arrests, including Constable Jonathan Symon Rabot, 29, a resident of Notre-Dame, Montagne-Longue, who is assigned to the Terre-Rouge police station. It was shortly after 6:00 am on October 03 that the team of police officers, led by Assistant Superintendent of Police Ashik Jagai, arrived in the coastal village of Black River. The van, which had just taken the 100 kilos of cannabis on board, was driving towards the village of Tamarin on the Coastal Road when it was intercepted.

The Commissioner of Police, Anil Kumar Dip, held a press conference to report the seizure.
