Roche-Bois Youth Arrested For Drug Trafficking

Jenson Jolicoeur, a 20-year-old resident of the Roche-Bois area, was apprehended in Cité Florida, Baie du Tombeau, for drug trafficking. His arrest was made by a team from the Metropolitan Police’s Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (Adsu). This after he was found in possession of thirty-three doses of heroin, weighing 2.7 grams, a clear plastic container containing eight pieces of aluminum foil folded with heroin weighing 0.6 grams of heroin and the sum of 2175. This money is suspected to have come from the sale of the drug.

A team of Adsu police officers led by Sergeant Yan Sun Fong patrolled the area on the basis of information concerning drug trafficking in the Florida housing estate, Baie du Tombeau. Jenson Jolicoeur was spotted and subjected to a search. These exhibits were seized.

The suspect was taken to the Adsu office in Abercrombie’s headquarters district, Sainte Croix, for questioning. He was subsequently taken into custody on the orders of Assistant Superintendent of Police Sooresh Ramburuth.  This Friday morning, September 29, he was brought before the Port-Louis court on a provisional charge of drug trafficking. He was subsequently returned to the police cell.
